Lighting Design Services

The company was established in November 1986 by Jon Pope. Jon had graduated from the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama in June 1974 with a Diploma in Stage Management. His interest in lighting design led him into the concert touring world where he worked, amongst others, with The Police, Status Quo, Diana Ross and Sir Elton John, initially as an electrician, then crew chief, and eventually as a lighting designer.

In 1984 Jon became a freelance lighting designer for the Events Industry specializing in Conferences, Product Launches and Live Events.

Designs to fit your needs and not our rental stock

We own a small stock of equipment, including control desks, dimmers, cabling, and conventional lamps, and offer these at competitive rates. However, we design to suit your needs and not our rental stock, and will rent in the appropriate equipment for your project. We have good working relationships with the major lighting rental companies and will negotiate on your behalf to realise the most cost-effective solutions.

As a result of our independence from the automated lighting manufacturers, and their affiliated rental companies, we choose the appropriate light for your project, and are not restricted to the inventory of any particular rental company..

CAD Facility

We operate the C.A.S.T. Wysiwyg lighting-design package. This is the industry’s de-facto lighting design software. We can import AutoCAD d.w.g.files, and export them back in either d.w.g. or pdf formats. We can create visualizations of your set, and allow you to “walk through” the set.
